The Quintet

The Benoit Glazer Quintet is a relatively new group, having only appeared on a few occasions in the Orlando area. Still, the group was featured on the first live broadcast in two years at WUCF-FM 89.9, and it was closing act at the 2006 Leesburg Art Festival.

The group plays almost exclusively original music, mostly composed by it's members. The sound is reminiscent of the classic quintets of the 50's and 60's, with a nice variety of styles, and a tinge of originality that breathes fresh air into today's jazz scene.

The Timucua Brass Band

A nine piece Brass Band comprising:

two trumpets, two trombones, two saxes,
one souzaphone and a drummer

The Timucua Brass Band was born in 2002, when I was writing, or trying to write,
a pretty ambitious classical composition.
I was struggling in my endeavor, so I decided to jot down a simple jazz tune.
Well a week later I had six tunes written for brass band.

Those were the basis for the Mardi Gras project.
We played them at Mardi Gras 2003, and it was such a success that I decided to complete the CD project.

We recorded the CD in December 2004, and it came out at Mardi Gras 2005.
I plan to remix and remaster the CD once we sell out the inital print.

The band does not play together that often, but there are projects in the works that could change that.
Because every time we do get together, sparks fly, and people get up and dance!

The Timucua Chamber Players

The Chamber Players is a flexible group that was born when Ralph Daniel Rawe, after a simple suggestion that he string some arias together for one of our home concerts, came up with a whole opera, built from twenty-two baroque operas.

It became obvious to me that we should record the opera, and so we did, in September 2004, in a church in Winter Park, FL.

The CD came out great, and it is selling very well.

After that project, we did a tango concert, which I plan to complete and record in the not so distant future, and we have other ambitious projects coming up also, that are still secret, so SSHHHHHHT!

There is also a possibility that we will write a brand new opera, in the year to come.
